Your skin and your eyes have my hands resting there
The breath of the dark shakes us from our empty.
Piece by piece the smile returns
to it’s resting place against pink cheeks.
The sun shines and winter is at an end
for my sight, it is you that I see

Hold my leaves as they uncurl once more
to the love of the day in veins and thread
The needle is gone and my shadows are bared
I bathe in the sounds of the brook
and caress the warm gentle spring
Between delicate fingers and the folds of my heart

It’s been so long since I let these dusted arms fly
Let my mind unwrap to the lies left behind
To this earth I feel no more painted pause
I am with you in sight and in the depths of womb
You carried me when my soul lay bare and dying
You bathed me when blood ran cold and lifeless from my skin

In locks of the sun and brow of the bluest sky
My shadow will soar and my debts be repaid
To you my sweetheart I give the gift of my light
In word and in breath
My thoughts and my tired eyes
