We all know and love Kelly Clarkson's Since U Been Gone. Awesome awesome song in every way.

This past week on Idol contestant Todrick Hall took on the song and gave it a twist.

What is your opinion of how he performed and arranged the song? Take part in the poll!!

it sounded weird, i totally didn't felt the power that was in the original song. R&B just doesn't fit the song, it's too slow.

i tried to give te guy a break but it wasnt even the same song. weird. i agree. i hated it. he had no real energy. the song demands power and he had nothing. boring and i agree with simon" he absolutly murdered the song"/ but really who can give the song justice other than kc?? i was hoping he would go home....

Simon is the only consistent entertainment and with him leaving the show is going to fade out.

I must say I have not heard of simon complementing anyone that has tried a kelly song before

He turned a pop/rock into a R&B song, really. He gets an A for orginality but it was just kinda weird.

how did this compare to the other kelly song performed since? what is with people choosing kelly for AI? It is hard to perform on AI but to perform a song of the original (or any) AI winner will be hard to match on the show

I gather from his comments, He holds her in really high esteem, and doesn't really think and other contestants, have come close to being as good as her. (maybe barring carrie, cause I know he also thought she was great). Im talking musically, so not including JHud!
