Topic: I suck at volleyball

Hey guys, i just thought i could tell you the nightmare i live at school all mondays and thursdays.
During these two days of the week i have Physical Education class, which I hate when we practice volleyball. The teacher makes us play matches and I suck playing, so first: no one wants me on his team. And second: when I finally have a team the only thing the people there do is offend me because I cant really hit that darn ball. After the class is over my self esteeme goes down and I get really low , until that I listen to Kelly's songs. So that's my story people, my Mondays and Thursdays are the "not cool beans days" of all the week.

dont worry, i suck at volleyball and my whole team in gym class sucks.  There is this one kid on my team whos really competitive and whenever someone messes up hes lie "YOU SUCK" or he booes.  The rest of my team is sick of him, and whenever he messes up were like "you suck!"  My whole gym class is sick of him, even the teacher.  I am suprised he hasnt had to run a lap since weve been in the unit!

HAHA I LIKE TO WATCH MY AUNT AND MY 2 COUSINS PLAY VOLLYBALL ITS SOOO FUNNY WHEN I GO TO HER PLACE FOR MY HOLIDAYS I GO TO WATCH THEM. THERE OK AT IT THEY JUST PLAY FOR FUN BUT I FIND IT RATHER FUNNY AND INTERESTING TO WATCH  I DUNNO IF IM GOOD AT IT??

I feel for ya man, I also know what it's like to be offended although with me it's because I'm a Kelly Fan :'( (half of the people at my school think Kelly sucks so they always say something about her to me and also because I have like a kelly shirt and stuff... and the other half of the kids at my school don't even know who Kelly is. ) oh well also about P.E. i'm in 10th grade and this is my last year of P.E  well anyways I suck at all sports except tennis and anyway people used to laugh when I was in middle school and at first I was hurt the kids were so mean especially the guys just because they were good at sports but anyway I started to laugh at myself and say "yeah i do suck at sports but who cares." So i guess what I'm saying German is hang in there it'll all be over soon and you don't have to know how to play volleyball to do something in life so don't even worry about it and when people say things to you just ignore them or automatically think of a Kelly song that's what I do well German hang in there you won't have p.e all your life.

That sucks! I don't really know what that feels like, because we don't have PE at our schools in South Africa. Thank God for that! I think I would have sucked A LOT! I usually try to stay FAR away from anyone playing volleyball. But don't sweat it. Just hang in there! One of these days it would all be over and you won't even remember the countless volleyball horrors. Focus on your strong points! That's always worked for me on stuff I can't do. Good luck!

Wow, I'm surprised if it really as bad as you say (not trying to say I don't believe you) but for me, I REALLY suck at sports because of my disabilities, double vision and lack of balance. When I play I put all my effort out. I'm willing to sacrafic my body, no matter the sport and to me the effort is what matters. I don't know what others think of me, but I don't really let it bother me because I know I am trying and that's the best I can do. It can be hard at times and I do have the times where I just want to cry, but it's just remembering to care only about yourself. In 6th grade I ran the mile in 14 mins, now I run it in 7. There still are people who run it faster than me, but I don't care cause I look at the diffrence of the times by ME. Once you focus on yourself other people will be more accepting and willing to help. For example: When I finish running the mile I stand by the finish line and cheer for others. One girl finished in 10 mins. I looked at her, but didn't say anything because she "lazy walked" most of it. Another girl came in at 14 mins and I gave her a high five and told her what a great job she did. The reason I did this was she really put the effort out there and she imporoved her time!

So, if you can focus on yourself then you are less likely to worry about what others think of you and it could change their thinking. Also, when you hit the vollyball take note of what it does, such as if it always goes backwards try hitting it another way. Good luck I hope things get better for you!

Thank oyu Acacia, I will do that!! My past PE class we played and I just tried my best,a nd didn't pay attention to what others told me, and I really got to enjoy the match.
Thanks to u too Tiana, i'm jealous taht you don't have PE, but it's not a bad jealousy, but a cool jealousy

UPDATE:

I'm improving a lot thanks to al your advices. Now I'm hjititng the ball more and ppl at the team are respecting me more. I started to play volleyball with my friends in recess, and it's pretty cool. Thanks to everyone who posted in here giving me support, specially to Acacia, Caity and Mel.

But let me tell you ppl that I'm having a lot of fun with volleyball nw, really, really fun!!! Now I can't wait for Mondays and Thursdays to come!!
