What does a street team do?
- find ways to promote Kelly, her albums, songs, and this site!
- contact radio stations, get people to request Kelly's songs ont he radio
- help get new Kelly fans
- motivate fans to pitch in and help promote everything, and take part in Kelly related projects
- welcome new members to the site, and new Kelly fans
- think up new projects about Kelly, get people into helping, and ways to present the finished project to Kelly
The staff will be available to help, but the street team, and it's leaders, will be the ones to actually do any projects, and present them to Kelly. It's upto the leaders and those part of the street team to find ways of doing it all, and of course, the street team members and leaders get all the credit for it, being the ones who do it.
Most street teams create tshirts they can make themselves using iron on transfer paper, someone creates the graphics and sends them to whoever wants to make a shirt. This can also be done with bumper stickers, flyers, and a wide assortment of items. They organize everyone to call into countdown shows on radio and tv, requests shows, that sort of thing, to get Kelly played as much as possible. Often, street teams become friendly with radio DJ's since they call so much, which can result in free merchandise from radio stations, and mentions on the air.
At concerts, street teams foten have parties before or after the show, where fans who may know each other online can all meet in person. Sometimes, a concert isn't needed, it has been known for street teams to have 'meetups' where they get together someplace and just hang out listening to Kelly's music together and having fun. This isn't always easy since age's can vary, and peopel are spread outaround the world, so it can be broken down into more than one get together for differant area's.
Street teams are often responsable for excessive airplay of their artists music, when you have a alrger street team, you have more people calling and voting for the artists music.
Street teams are also protective of the artist against rumors and such. Rebutling against things that might have been said that is wrong by blogs and such from people such as Perez Hilton (and others). This is already a factor in Kelly's fan-base, but can be taken to a new level that is organized, and done respectfully, rather than the bashing that normally goes on about such things.
This is where the leaders come in msot of all, to keep things positive, and not let things go out of hand. Leaders will head up the projects, and everything else, keeping it all organized, listening to idea's, keeping track of who's doing what, and above all, communication, as well as being mature, responsable, and helpful towards everything, setting an example for everyone else to follow (of course, remember to have fun too!)
